Peek-a-boo Barn

I painted this in an afternoon as part of my continuing "painting-a-day" goal. The colors were on the brink of being muddied, so I stopped. Working wet is very challenging at times--it requires a greater precision of color versus knowing you're going to go back and paint another day when it's dry. Defining the darks and lights involves applying a lot of paint and then not messing with it anymore! Some days I need to hide the brushes from myself!

  1. Hi Lauren,

I just visited Nina's and bought this piece. Love it!!! I'll be hanging it in my DC rowhouse and bringing some beautiful Cali home with me.
