I was driving along, lost in my own internal "to-do list" when everything began to glow. That glow of the heat turning to cool. This little house's face was all lit up watching the sunset.

Wow, Lauren, this is very fine. that glow-y house front is pretty and I like the echo of the sunset in the clouds. Also I like the painting technique you are using here, where the brushstrokes seem simple but the effect is to create a dense, deep texture. The trees made me think of cupcakes! I think I was recalling Wayne Thiebaud's cupcakes - not that your painting is like his but I see a similarity in the brush technique and how it creates a lot of dimension with few strokes.

ReplyDeleteHe is one of my all-time painting heroes! A fine compliment indeed. Thank you so much for that!
