Coming and Going

For my next show in March, I decided to explore the concept of horizon. In one sense, the horizon is the apparent line that divides the earth from everything else. But according to another source, it is the coming together of earth and sky.  So apart and together, dividing and meeting--different meanings within one word. I enjoyed pondering this while painting these pieces. This piece is more abstract than I've painted in a while. Due to it's length, I decided to not get hung up in the details. Actually, I tried it several times with more detail and it just wouldn't let me. It was a double-wipe down, if you know what I mean.
