Harvest Time

This time of year is a strange in-between. School starts and an eerie quiet descends on the town. Toys and swim noodles get packed away, despite the 95-degree heat that still lingers. Our no-schedule schedule gets replaced with classroom meetings and sports sign-ups. A parent-pressured panic to have time slots filled. Fall is actually my favorite season, but right now there's still a small thread tethering me to those days where the toughest decision involved jumping in the pool BEFORE or AFTER lunch. Thank you, Summer 2012...you were good to us.
