Flowering Field Hang-up

My friend Melissa sent us a sweet wooden postcard this summer with holes up top to add string and hang on a wall. It's the perfect solution for these laminate floor samples I've been wanting to paint on. I drilled holes in the corners and when the painting is dry, I'll thread some simple brown twine through them for hanging. It's cute, not too fussy and a lot easier than trying to sink an alligator hanger (those samples are really hard!) or drill a keyhole in the back. Can't wait to see it when it's all ready to hang!

Small Works Show

I've started a new series of works on laminate chips for an upcoming 2nd Friday ArtAbout show at Nina's Haute Again in Davis, September 10th. I'm painting feverishly to have a bunch of fun, affordable pieces available that evening. This one is a local farm stand we frequent. I'll be sharing more with you as I finish them.
