Covell Barn, Late Spring

I've been away from the easel for over a week..funny how rusty you can get. I did this little barn study this morning. Besides being a tad crooked (or it may be my photo..it's been a long day!), I'm happy with it. I look forward to picking up the brush again this evening!

Barn Shadows

Funny how big a 12 x 12" piece can seem when you're used to teeny tiny canvases! I am happy with the shadows on the the barn and the loose sky.

A big thanks to Nina for hosting Davis' only indie artisan show yesterday. It was a lot of fun--and the rain didn't show up until it was over! Gotta love that.

Happy Barn

I love this barn because it's been a part of my daily life the past six years we've lived here. I know there will be a time when it's no longer standing, whether it collapses on its own or is finally razed for development. I think this is the third time I've painted it.

Red Barn

This painting was sketched out for days, and I only just got around to painting it. I really loved this cheery barn with a wide smile! What, you don't think barns can smile?
