Right now it's harvest time, but I love painting the little shoots of Spring. The green meandering carpet almost glows.

This one's still on the easel--mostly because I love looking at it. It was inspired by the scarlet tulips that are blooming around here right now. That rich orange red that makes you want to go paint your toenails to match.

March Storm

We had some wet, wild weather last week! Sideways rain and gusty winds that seemed to make all the trees vibrate. Now just a few days later, my tulips are up and blooming.

Five Sisters

I struggled early this morning on a teensy tiny board. It didn't go so well. I got more satisfaction from tossing it (emphatically) in the trash than at any moment while I was actually painting it. I gave myself a second chance on an 8 x 10 canvas. I didn't have much time so I worked quickly.

Success! Keeping the brushwork loose on the trees and the foreground simple.
